Why did Daredevil get canceled?
The series cancellation was due to Disney pulling back rights to film and television projects licensed to Netflix.
A new “Daredevil” series is moving forward at Disney+, with Variety having exclusively learned from sources that Matt Corman and Chris Ord are attached to write and executive produce.
While “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones” and all of Netflix's Marvel series were branded as “Netflix Originals” to consumers when they premiered on the streaming platform, the shows were licensed out to the streaming giant from Disney. Netflix's licensing deal ended, opening the door for Disney to move them to Disney Plus.
The reason: Netflix's rights to the shows are about to expire per the original deal struck long before Disney+ was a public concept and the streamer's relationship with the now-shuttered division of Marvel Entertainment soured.
Daredevil: Born Again will be released on Disney Plus in spring 2024. The series will consist of 18 episodes, as confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con 2022, and will be part of Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase Five.
Daredevil provided fans with three highly-acclaimed seasons of Marvel television on Netflix, and despite the success of the shows on Disney+, it's still the best TV Marvel has to offer.

The devil has finally gotten his Marvel Studios due. Daredevil has made his official debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, via Charlie Cox's much-hyped cameo in Thursday's eighth and penultimate episode of “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law” Season 1 on Disney Plus.
So Is Daredevil: Born Again a Reboot or a Continuation? The show is most certainly a reboot, and all the previous canons should not be assumed to be happening in this universe.
