What did Ranni do to Godwyn?
Ranni stole the Rune of Death from Maliketh and killed her immortal body. As a result, Godwyn became the one of Those Who Live in Death , whose soul have already perished while the body is still alive. The fact that only a soul of Godwyn perished is described in the text of “Cursemark of Death”.
Ranni wanted to overthrow Marika, and to do that she would need the power to kill a god. A power that only existed in the Rune of Death.
The reasons for Godwyn's murder lay at the heart of Elden Ring's story, but what's important here is that Godwyn technically only died half-way. His soul was murdered, but his body lived on in a cursed state of undeath.
Godwyn the Golden was a demigod and son of Queen Marika the Eternal and Godfrey, the First Elden Lord. In the "Night of the Black Knives" he was murdered by assassins from the land of the Numen with the use of daggers imbued with the Rune of Death.
Julianna Swickard of CBR also debated whether Ranni was good or evil, arriving at the conclusion that while she was morally grey as a character, her ending was the "best possible outcome" of all the game's endings.
General Radahn is generally considered by most Elden Ring characters as the strongest demigod, except it seems even the strongest don't always win.
The reason Ranni had Godwyn killed was for a ritual. She wanted to destroy her body but preserve her soul in a doll. This way, she could escape her destiny and not be bound by the whims of the Greater Will like the rest of her family. It was this act that really made the plot of Elden Ring begin.
What is the reason the black knife gang went to assassinate Blaidd and Iji after Ranni is put to rest? The main theory is that they were sent by the Two Fingers to kill them for betraying the Greater Will. Ranni was a target as well as seen with the Baleful Shadow.
In this ending, the Tarnished aids Ranni the Witch in her scheme to replace Queen Marika and rid the Lands Between of the Golden Order's influence. In doing so, Ranni becomes a goddess and takes the Tarnished as her Elden Lord and consort.
Miquella is actually supposed to stay hidden in his cocoon for the duration of Elden Ring's story. Miquella has locked himself within that self-made prison in the hope it will allow him to age. Both he and Malenia, a character some players will know very well, have been cursed to stay young forever.
Is Godwyn the father of godrick?
It is implied that Godrick is not actually a direct child of Godfrey and Marika, but instead a descendant as he is described by many to have a "distant relation" with "diluted blood." He also refers Godfrey and his lineage as his forefathers.
The Night of Black Knives was the prelude to the shattering. The first event was the breaking of the Elden Ring itself. The Ring was broken by Queen Marika the Eternal after the death of her son Godwyn.

Lunar Princess Ranni assassinated Godwyn with the help of her Black Knife Assassins, causing Queen Marika to shatter the Elden Ring in her distress. However, striking down a Demigod isn't easy, which is why Ranni imbued the Assassins' Daggers with the Rune of Death, stolen from Maliketh.
In the Roundtable Hold, Sir Gideon Ofnir claims that Miquella is still alive but trapped in a deep slumber, which is further explored in content cut from the final version of the game, which states that Miquella is St. Trina, God of Slumber.
Radagon is the male half of Queen Marika and former husband of Queen Rennala. As Marika's King Consort, he became the second Elden Lord.
The Demigods are major antagonists of the 2022 video game, Elden Ring. They are the children and descendants of Marika and Radagon.
As for the Tarnished themselves, they are taken by Ranni as her consort. This means the Tarnished does not become the Elden Lord like in so many other endings. Under Ranni's rule, there is no Elden Lord. The Tarnished and Ranni rule together, much like Radagon did with Marika (but without being the same person).
The Loathsome Dung Eater is one of Elden Ring's most evil boss characters. His actions are horrific in-game and in lore, and players should fear him. Elden Ring takes place in a dark world, but Dung Eater stands out as terrifying even in such a setting.
Malenia has a lot more health than Radahn (over 33,000 HP divided between two phases, compared to Radahn's 9,000+ HP), though she also has a lot less poise.
1 Malenia, Blade of Miquella / Malenia, Goddess of Rot
The rest of the fight has a beautiful and deadly rhythm to it, one worthy of the hardest boss in Elden Ring. The satisfaction that comes from finally defeating this seemingly impossible (and optional) boss is perhaps unmatched throughout all FromSoftware titles.
Is Ranni the villain?
The Fingers and Ranni are in direct opposition, but neither one is “good” or “evil”; the former seeks to maintain the status quo (quite like keeping the Flame alight in Dark Souls' ending), while the latter wants something brand new for everyone who's suffering as a result of said status quo.
Thus, Fia's purpose to join Godwyn is to reintroduce mortality to the Lands Between. Though such a fate may sound macabre, it actually frees Those Who Live In Death who have been waiting to pass while also allowing Destined Death to reach the demigods who have become mad with age.
From the Ranni's confession before and the flavor text of Black Knife below, we can conclude that Ranni made and handed over the Black Knife. I stole a fragment of the Rune of Death, and used it to forge the godslaying black knives through fearsome rite.
The Moonlight Greatsword is a reward from Ranni once Elden Ring players finish her questline.

Fingerslayer Blade is used to progress in Ranni's questline. This is the 'Hidden treasure of Nokron' she asks you to find. After giving this item to her, she gives you the Carian Inverted Statue as a reward.
Melina, too, is searching for her own path, but she shows her opposition to the Greater Will in her willingness to be the kindling for burning the Erdtree, an act she calls a cardinal sin. Queen Marika, mother of demi-gods, is Melina's mother, making Melina a demi-god and, therefore, Ranni's sister.
Elden Ring has six endings, and Ranni's Age of Stars is the only true “good” ending, as it leaves The Lands Between better than it was found. Elden Ring has six endings, and Ranni's Age of Stars is the only true “good” ending, morally speaking.
In the frenzied flames ending, it seems Ranni and Melina are back to being one person again and have both of their eyes open. There is also some evidence to indicate they are not the same person, for example Ranni's tattoo is that of the death curse symbol.
Players later find Mohg and Miquella within his corrupted egg. Miquella's Haligtree egg, however, is still whole except for a large crack running along its side. Through this crack, Miquella's arm reaches out, revealing that the once eternally-young demigod has gone through a horrifying transformation.
What is Mohg doing to Miquella?
Players will fight Mohg, Lord of Blood in the end of the story of Elden Ring. Gideon said Mohg kidnapped Miquella and is trying to establish a new dynasty.
Mohg had gained power from an outer god known as the Formless Mother. He wished to raise Miquella to full godhood and to become his consort and a monarch of the new age. Despite all of Mohg's efforts, Miquella remained completely unresponsive and stayed asleep in his cocoon.
Malenia is the daughter of Radagon and Marika.
She is also the twin brother of Miquella. As such, they formed an inseparable bond, and their two stories intertwine closely.

The answer is in the text of Godfrey Icon. Godfrey was a ferocious warrior. When he vowed to become a lord, he took the Beast Regent Serosh upon on his back to suppress the ceaseless lust for battle that raged within.

She was an empyrean, bound to a god, and just as Ranni destroyed her flesh to escape this fate, Marika could have been looking to escape this fate. Thus, Marika could have been looking for her own free will all along, setting into motion a series of events that would eventually lead to this.
He adds that the thief imbued the blades of the Black Knife Assasins with this stolen rune, making it powerful enough to kill a demigod. Godwyn the Golden died at the hands of these assassins, but it is unclear who gave them the order.

The Night of Black Knives
In order to escape it, Ranni stole a fragment of the Rune of Death from Maliketh, the Black Blade, and through fearsome rite, imbued it into the blades of Numen assassins close to Queen Marika herself. She also gave a fragment to her brother Rykard so he could kill Maliketh if necessary.

A Reddit user named Razhork has shared a comparison clip which shows a very subtle design choice about Melina's weapon, the Blade of Calling, which ties Melina to the game's Black Knife Assassins.
Ranni controls the black blade assassins, not the two fingers. We only know that she has some connection with them, not that shes in charge of them mate. Theres nothing that confirms her being their leader, and its massively contradicted by her relationship with Iji and Blaidd, specially Blaidd.
Still, if Ranni was always the intangible, one-shotting demigod she is in Elden Ring, then she may very well be more powerful than Radahn and Malenia combined. In that instance, she's more than worthy of being considered the strongest demigod in the game.
Should You Serve Ranni the Witch? Ranni will ask you to serve her once you reach her. There are no negative consequences to saying yes - only boons, such as more story questlines and unique rewards. You must complete Ranni's questline to continue Fia's Questline, which unlocks yet another unique ending as well.
In order to acquire Malenia's Great Rune, one must travel to Miquella's Haligtree. Here you will be tasked with trying to defeat Malenia, Blade of Miquella. After defeating Malenia, the Great Rune is all yours and it has a nice effect that is added to your character once it is activated.
The Frenzied Flame ending is probably the strangest one that Elden Ring has to offer. It's also the most difficult to trigger. Your maiden, Melina, will actually abandon you if you pursue the Frenzied Flame ending, just to give you an idea of how far off the beaten path you'll have to go.
Elden Ring's Queen Marika, mother of demi-gods, is Melina's mother, making Melina a demi-god and, therefore, Ranni's sister.
Elden Ring Dung Eater ending
This is the Dung Eater's ending, in which you use the Mending Rune of the Fell Curse on Fractured Marika. To do this you have to follow the Dung Eater quest (opens in new tab), but it's undoubtedly a bad ending, since you curse the world and all of its inhabitants.
