How do you turn off too far from host in ARK?
There is nothing you can do about it on a non-dedicated server. Your only option would be to convert it to a dedicated server.
Due to the fact that you'll be able to host a server and play at the same time, there is a limit on how far survivors can travel from one another. Currently this is set to approx 250M, as well as a limit on the amount of players that can be online at once, which is the host + 7.
The version through steam and epic you can adjust this setting in the settings of the game but since the game pass version only associates itself with the version on Xbox (which doesn't support it) it can't adjust it either along with the fact you can't crossplay between Microsoft and Steam/Epic even if both are on pc.
You can't change the tether. It's a limitation of consoles that they don't have the power to load the entire map. The person hosting dictates the tether distance so if a person on a ps5/series x hosts, the distance will be bigger than if a ps4/xbox one hosts. But the tether will still exist regardless.
You can adjust the max distance in the setting but once you hit max that is it. The only way to get rid of tether is to play on dedicated servers or solo.
the number sets max tether distance in increments of 200m We just did a game with it set to 100.0 (which should be max of 20,000 m) and I can be on opposite corner of island than host (over 8200m away) still no issues. Its all still relevent no matter how old the thread is now... Thanks for the input!
After collecting all 200 Fjordur Runes, you will be able to unlock the Mjolnir skin on your Tek Sword. The new weapon skin will not give any bonuses other than changing the appearance.
The Phoenix is by far the rarest creature in all of ARK: Survival Evolved. Not only does just one spawn per map, but it will also need to be a heatwave for the mythical beast to appear. It will only ever appear on the Scorched Earth map, however it will re-spawn if the heatwave continues.
All of those things take time and could see you away from your computer for a short while. By default, the AFK timer is set to just 15 minutes. After 15 minutes straight of inactivity, you'll be kicked and have to queue up again.
As announced on the official ARK: Survival Evolved website, the game is now changed. Double rates are now staying permanently. After making some experiments with the game, the team behind ARK: Survival Evolved, decided to increase the rates on their official servers.
