Does putting 141 hide your number?
Withholding your telephone number means that it won't be available to the person you're calling. You can ask us to permanently withhold your number, or you can choose to withhold it yourself on a call-by-call basis. To withhold your number on individual calls, just dial 141 before the telephone number you want to call.
All you have to do is add 141 to the beginning of the number you're calling and the receiver will not be able to see who you are; instead they'll be presented with Private Number or No Caller ID. The 141 code also works for home phones, so you can mask the origin of a call even on your landline.
Try going into the phone app/dialler app, then go to settings from there. Then you'll be able to change the settings to withold the number. 141 is only something that was used on much older devices and the newer devices allow you to hide the number prior to call.
Use *67 to hide your phone number
This trick works for smartphones and landlines. Open your phone's keypad and dial * – 6 – 7, followed by the number you're trying to call. The free process hides your number, which will show up on the other end as “Private” or “Blocked” when reading on caller ID.
Withhold your number
If you don't want the person you're calling to see your number, simply dial 141 before calling their number.
You have the option to block Caller ID either temporarily or permanently. To block your number from being displayed temporarily for a specific call: Enter *67. Enter the number you wish to call (including area code).
Withholding your number on a Featureline
Dial *147# and then dial the extension number you want to call, or 9 followed by the phone number of an outside line.
*82 - Unblocks Caller ID on one outbound call
This star code will unblock your caller ID for a single outgoing call if you have previously used *61 to block caller ID for all outbound calls.
Private numbers, blocked, and restricted calls can usually be traced. However, unknown, unavailable or out of area calls are not traceable because they don't contain the data needed for a successful trace.
Does 141 work on mobiles 2022?
If you don't want to withhold your number permanently, only before making a particular call, it's very straight forward to do. Simply type the numbers 141 before the phone number you plan to dial. This is the same system used on landlines but it also works on mobiles.
Call forwarding is disabled by dialing *73. This feature requires a subscription from the telephone company. Also available in some areas is Remote Access to call forwarding, which permit the control over call forwarding from telephones other than the subscriber's telephone.

BT 1471 tells you the last number that called - unless the caller withheld their number by dialling '141' before dialling your number, or the call came from a switchboard extension number. 1471 Call Return also lets you return the call straight away, by pressing '3'.
Hang up the phone after calling and getting a busy signal. Pick the phone up and at the dial tone, press *66. If the line is free, the call will go through. If the line is busy, you may hear a message.
*67 - Caller ID Block: Hides your phone number on Caller ID systems. *69 - Call Return: Redials the last number that called you. *70 - Call Waiting: Places your call on hold so you can answer another. *72 - Call Forwarding: Forward your call to another phone number.
Call return (*69) automatically dials your last incoming call, whether the call was answered, unanswered or busy. To activate: Dial *69 and listen for a recording of the last number that was called. To call that number, dial 1. If the number is rings busy, hang up.
Both Android and iOS devices let you hide your caller ID, making you show up as No Caller ID, Private, or Blocked to everyone you call. If you want to temporarily unblock your number after changing these settings, dial *82 before the number you want to call. This overrides your settings and shows your caller ID again.
1471 is always active and useful even if you have an answering machine. Dialling 1471 without using Call Return is free. The Call Return feature of 1471 costs a fixed fee of 7.5p. The fee will apply when you press 3 to return your last caller's call.
Reject anonymous calls
Anonymous Call Rejection (*77) stops calls from people that use a blocking feature to keep their name or number from being displayed. When Anonymous Call Rejection is turned on, callers will hear a message telling them to hang up, turn off the blocking feature, and call again.
Malicious caller identification, introduced in 1992 as Call Trace, is activated by Vertical service code Star codes *57, and is an upcharge fee subscription service offered by telephone company providers which, when dialed immediately after a malicious call, records meta-data for police follow-up.
What does * 31 do to your phone?
Hide Your Phone From Caller ID: #31#
I could only get this to work on Android. But entering this code prompted a pop-up stating that my Caller ID had been disabled. In order to re-instate Caller ID, enter *31# .
The first one is *69, which traces the number of the last person who called you. It works even for anonymous or hidden calls, so you can get the phone number and the exact time they called. Once you have that hidden phone number, you can block it on your phone, so it can't call you anymore.
One way is to use Google. Google can give you all the information about a phone number, including the type and owner. However, this method may not work well, especially for private numbers. If you want to find out who owns a specific cell phone number, you can use a service like TrueCaller.
Yes. Easily. The phone company does not rely on caller ID information - they have the billing information which can be given to the police. So then they have your phone number.
The simplest way to block your number is to dial *67 at the beginning of the phone number you want to call. If you use this method to hide your caller ID from someone saved in your contacts, you'll need to make a note of their number (or copy it to the clipboard) first.
Dial #31# followed by the number you intend to call. Press the call button, and your ID will be effectively hidden from the person you are calling. Do not forget to do this every time you need to hide your ID since the step only works once per call.
Enter *67 before dialing a number to hide your number from the recipient of the call. Android: Tap Phone > menu > Settings > Calls > Additional Settings > Caller ID > Hide number.
*82 - Unblocks Caller ID on one outbound call
This star code will unblock your caller ID for a single outgoing call if you have previously used *61 to block caller ID for all outbound calls.
Yes, dialing *68 or *82 before the number will show your Caller ID information for a single call even if the Show My Caller ID toggle is set to Off.
*82 can be dialed from U.S. land-line house phones and business lines, as well as most cell phones and mobile devices. Some mobile devices may alternatively offer or require a menu selection to override Caller ID blocking per call.
Does Star 67 still work in 2022?
Does Star 67 work 2022? Based on our tests in April of 2022, this still works. If you dial *67 then the recipient's full ten-digit phone number, your call will ring through. The recipient's caller ID will say 'Unknown Caller' or something similar.
Based on our tests in April of 2022, this still works. If you dial *67 then the recipient's full ten-digit phone number, your call will ring through. The recipient's caller ID will say 'Unknown Caller' or something similar.
Per-Call Blocking allows you to block your number, on a call by call basis, from appearing on the caller identification (ID) unit of the person you are calling, free of charge. To block your number from displaying on a caller ID unit: At the dial tone, push *67.
